2024 Sep 14 (Bald Peak Scenic Park, OR) Washco ARES members will travel to Bald Peak and separate into numerous VARA FM field stations.
Then we will establish a net control station to help us negotiate traffic by simplex radio. We will trade WLE messages by WLE Peer-to-peer (P2P). This a practice deployment for the purpose of setting up a Winlink message station. In a real world event, we could be setting up at a local shelter or at an agency. This is practice.
Instructions: Bring a complete FM Winlink station or bring yourself (or anything in between). When P2P is done, we will check to see if we can reach nearby RMS Gateways.
I have attached my non-peer reviewed information sheet complete with blank log sheets (please turn in) for your convenience. It will likely change before September 14. 2024 Sep 14 v3c Version 3c has longer grid square (6 character) and page numbering.
Basically: 1. show up, 2. Send messages, 3. Have fun, 4. Tell us how you did. 5. Evaluate for a better next time.
