Orientation to the County Emergency Management Ham Comm Kit. And kits we keep. We will open them up, turn them on, and figure out how to re-pack them.
Optional Level 2: Powerpole or coaxial connector assembly introduction. Training team members will bring tools. We may be able to provide limited supplies (parts).
Bring some wire and connectors and learn / demonstrate your (new) ability to crimp or solder Anderson Powerpole® adapters into a useful tool.
Demonstrate your ability to assemble coaxial cable connectors (solder or crimp). May be limited by supplies, so bring what ya got. Get ideas for the next time we do this.
This will be at the Sherriff's Office Training Center (600 Walnut) where we have access to a negative pressure room to whisk away solder fumes.
With a short length of coaxial cable, we can add some connectors. This hook up can be used to attach an antenna to an antenna analyzer.
