Gateway Usage & Radio Programming:
In order to use any gateway (Internet) functions of a D-STAR repeater, you must be already registered on a single gateway server. Note that your registered gateway server can be anywhere, however it is recommended that you register on a server that is nearby your location.

If you want to register on the Washington County ARES/RACES D-STAR system (N7QQU), please first read the instructions on the D-Star Self Registration website, then go to the N7QQU Repeater Registration website to sign up. Registration is not complete until an administrator approves your account and you assign a terminal per the self-registration instructions.

On your D-STAR radio, for the N7QQU 70cm repeater, assign your settings as follows:

MYCALL: Your Call Sign
URCALL: CQCQCQ
RPT1: N7QQU▪▪B (our 70cm module is assigned as “module B”)
RPT2: N7QQU▪▪G (the gateway server is always “G”)
“▪” represents a space.

On your ID-1, to connect to the N7QQU 23cm digital data repeater, assign your settings as follows:

MYCALL: Your Call Sign (with terminal if assigned)
URCALL: N7QQU
RPT1: N7QQU▪▪A (our 1.2 GHz module is assigned as “module A”)
RPT2: N7QQU▪▪G (the gateway server is always “G”)
“▪” represents a space.

To connect to the internet, attach an ethernet cable from your ID-1 to the WAN port on a standard broadband router and assign the IP address settings on your router as follows:

IP Address: Your Terminal IP Address
Netmask: 255.0.0.0
Default Gateway: 10.0.0.1
DNS Server: 10.0.0.1

Enable the DHCP server, wifi, etc. on your broadband router and connect local computers, phones, or anything else that you would like.

Repeater Commands:
Echo Test – Will repeat any audio transmitted.
URCALL: ▪▪▪▪▪▪▪E

ID – Will playback voice identification and linking status.
URCALL: ▪▪▪▪▪▪▪I

Simulcast to All Repeater Modules – If we had more than one repeater module, this would simulcast to all installed modules (excluding the gateway).
URCALL: N7QQU▪▪▪

Execute Gateway Scripts – See dstar.info for the installed scripts and usage instructions.
URCALL: N7QQU▪nX (where “n” is the script command)

Linking – Either to another repeater or reflector (see dstarinfo.com/reflectors.aspx for reflector list).
URCALL: XXNYYYmL (where “XXNYYY” is the callsign or reflector, and “m” is the module you want to link to)

Unlinking – Disconnect from another repeater or reflector.
URCALL: ▪▪▪▪▪▪▪U
