We set up HF stations at Dairy Creek Park.
AJ7CS: Yaesu FT-817 ND transmitting only 5 watts on internal battery into a Buddipole antenna through an LDG tuner although the antenna was tuned. I made Winlink connections with two different gateways over two hundred miles away.
KD7ISA: I set up a folded dipole antenna (AH-710). Three masts elevated the ends to 12 feet AGL (above ground level) with the center 16 ft AGL. One mast was made up of green metal poles. The end masts were tripods topped with extendable window washing poles (4x 4 ft sections). Three of us successfully checked into the Noontime net on 40M with my IC-7300 (my goal). My radio Winlink settings were incorrect (which I knew) so WLE was not on my to do list. My plan is to correct the radio WLE settings.
